Asian-Style Grilled Duck Skewers Recipe

I always thought duck was just for fancy holidays… until I tried it this way. These Asian-style skewers are so easy, and the flavors are insane. Think tangy soy, a hint of sweetness, and that smoky grilled finish. My husband literally licks the plate. And I love that it takes under 30 minutes — no fuss, no stress.
Ingredients:
For the Marinade:
-
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
-
2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
-
1 tbsp rice vinegar
-
1 tbsp sesame oil
-
2 garlic cloves, minced
-
1 tsp fresh grated ginger
-
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
For the Skewers:
-
1 lb duck breast or boneless duck thighs, cut into 1.5" cubes
-
Wooden or metal skewers
-
Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions:
-
Soak skewers: If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 15–20 minutes.
-
Marinate duck: In a bowl or zip-top bag, whisk together marinade ingredients. Add duck cubes and marinate for at least 20 minutes (or up to 4 hours in the fridge).
-
Grill: Preheat grill to medium-high. Thread marinated duck onto skewers and grill for 3–4 minutes per side, or until cooked through and slightly charred.
-
Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve with jasmine rice, cucumber salad, or lettuce wraps.
Tips & Swaps:
-
Make it a meal: Pair with steamed rice and quick stir-fried veggies.
-
