Citrus-Marinated Grilled Turkey Pieces Recipe

I used to think turkey was only for big holidays — dry, bland, and always too much effort. But once I started cutting it into smaller pieces and marinating it with fresh citrus and herbs, everything changed. Now it’s one of my favorite ways to add variety to weeknight grilling. It’s quick, packed with flavor, and makes me feel like I’m eating something special — even on a Tuesday night!
Ingredients:
-
1½ lbs turkey breast or thigh meat, cut into large chunks
-
1/4 cup olive oil
-
1/4 cup orange juice (fresh if possible)
-
2 tbsp lime juice
-
1 tbsp lemon juice
-
2 garlic cloves, minced
-
1 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro or parsley
-
1 tsp paprika
-
1/2 tsp salt
-
1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions:
-
Make the marinade: In a bowl or zip-top bag, whisk together olive oil, orange juice, lime juice, lemon juice, garlic, herbs, paprika, salt, and pepper.
-
Marinate: Add turkey pieces and toss to coat. Marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes (up to 4 hours for deeper flavor).
-
Grill: Preheat grill to medium-high. Thread turkey onto skewers or grill directly. Cook for 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through (165°F internal temp).
-
Serve: Let rest for 5 minutes. Serve with a squeeze of lime and fresh herbs on top.
Tips & Swaps:
-
No grill? Use a cast iron skillet or broil in the oven.
-
Make it a meal: Pair with coconut rice, grilled veggies, or a citrusy quinoa salad.
-
Add extra zing: Zest the orange and lime before juicing and add to the marinade!
