Triple Bacon Cheeseburger Recipe

I still remember the first time I made a Triple Bacon Cheeseburger at home. It was a “just for fun” kind of night — one of those let’s-not-count-anything meals. And oh. my. goodness. Three layers of juicy beef, melty cheddar, crispy bacon, and buttery buns? It was comfort food magic.
Now it’s my go-to when someone says, “I want something epic.”
Ingredients
For the burger patties:
-
1 lb ground beef (80/20 for max juiciness)
-
Salt & pepper to taste
-
1/2 tsp garlic powder
-
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
For the build:
-
6 slices thick-cut bacon
-
3 slices cheddar cheese
-
3 slices American cheese (or more cheddar if preferred)
-
2 brioche buns, buttered and toasted
-
Optional: pickles, lettuce, tomato, red onion, mayo, ketchup, mustard
Instructions
-
Cook the bacon
In a skillet, fry bacon until crispy. Drain on paper towels. -
Form the patties
Divide the ground beef into 6 small, thin patties (they’ll shrink). Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. -
Cook the patties
In the same skillet or on a grill, cook patties 2–3 minutes per side. Add cheese to 3 of them during the last minute to melt. -
Toast the buns
Butter and toast the brioche buns in a hot skillet until golden. -
Assemble the burger
Start stacking: bottom bun → cheesy patty → bacon slice → plain patty → more bacon → cheesy patty → bacon → top bun. Add your favorite burger toppings if desired. -
Serve with napkins
And maybe a fork and knife — just in case. But this one’s meant to be messy.
Sarah’s Tips
-
Want the diner-style sear? Smash the patties flat while cooking.
-
Mix up the cheese! Try pepper jack, gouda, or blue cheese crumbles.
-
Serve with sweet potato fries or — let’s be real — loaded chili cheese fries for the full effect.
-
Use a skewer to hold the stack together if serving guests!
