Triple Bacon Cheeseburger Recipe

25 minutes american classics bacon recipes burger recipes cheesy recipes comfort food indulgent dinners

I still remember the first time I made a Triple Bacon Cheeseburger at home. It was a “just for fun” kind of night — one of those let’s-not-count-anything meals. And oh. my. goodness. Three layers of juicy beef, melty cheddar, crispy bacon, and buttery buns? It was comfort food magic.

Now it’s my go-to when someone says, “I want something epic.”

Ingredients

For the burger patties:

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 for max juiciness)

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika

For the build:

  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon

  • 3 slices cheddar cheese

  • 3 slices American cheese (or more cheddar if preferred)

  • 2 brioche buns, buttered and toasted

  • Optional: pickles, lettuce, tomato, red onion, mayo, ketchup, mustard

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon
In a skillet, fry bacon until crispy. Drain on paper towels.

  2. Form the patties
Divide the ground beef into 6 small, thin patties (they’ll shrink). Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.

  3. Cook the patties
In the same skillet or on a grill, cook patties 2–3 minutes per side. Add cheese to 3 of them during the last minute to melt.

  4. Toast the buns
Butter and toast the brioche buns in a hot skillet until golden.

  5. Assemble the burger
Start stacking: bottom bun → cheesy patty → bacon slice → plain patty → more bacon → cheesy patty → bacon → top bun. Add your favorite burger toppings if desired.

  6. Serve with napkins
And maybe a fork and knife — just in case. But this one’s meant to be messy.

Sarah’s Tips

  • Want the diner-style sear? Smash the patties flat while cooking.

  • Mix up the cheese! Try pepper jack, gouda, or blue cheese crumbles.

  • Serve with sweet potato fries or — let’s be real — loaded chili cheese fries for the full effect.

  • Use a skewer to hold the stack together if serving guests!
