7-Minute Citrus Burst Sorbet Recipe

The first time I made this Citrus Burst Sorbet was during a heatwave when everyone in the house was melting and begging for something cold. I didn’t want to hand out sugar-loaded popsicles, so I threw together fresh citrus, a touch of honey, and ice in the blender. The result? A frosty, zesty treat that tastes like a spoonful of sunshine! It’s now our go-to “cool-down” dessert that even my picky eater asks for again and again.
Citrus Burst Sorbet Recipe
Ingredients:
-
1 orange, peeled and segmented
-
1 grapefruit, peeled and segmented (white pith removed)
-
1 lemon, peeled and seeded
-
2–3 tbsp honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
-
1/2 cup water or coconut water
-
2 cups ice
-
Optional: fresh mint or citrus zest for topping
Instructions:
-
Prep the Fruit
Peel, segment, and remove any seeds or white pith from your citrus. You want the flesh only for the smoothest texture. -
Blend It All
Add citrus, honey/maple syrup, water, and ice to a high-speed blender. Blend until smooth and slushy, scraping down the sides as needed. -
Adjust Consistency
If it’s too thick, add a splash more water. Too thin? Add more ice. -
Serve Immediately
Scoop into bowls or glasses, garnish with fresh mint or citrus zest, and enjoy right away for the best texture.
Sarah’s Tips 🍋
-
Want a more intense flavor? Freeze the citrus segments ahead of time and skip the ice.
-
Add a pinch of sea salt to make the flavors pop!
-
You can also freeze leftovers in popsicle molds for later.
