Watermelon Lemon Twist Recipe

I used to think watermelon was only for slicing at picnics, but turning it into this super-refreshing drink changed everything. It’s sweet, hydrating, and just a little bit tangy — kind of like summer in a glass. I love keeping a pitcher of it in the fridge during hot days. It feels indulgent, but it’s really just fruit, water, and a squeeze of lemon!
Ingredients:
-
2 cups seedless watermelon, cubed
-
Juice of 1 lemon
-
½ tsp honey or maple syrup (optional, depending on sweetness)
-
4–5 fresh mint leaves
-
½ cup cold water or sparkling water
-
Ice cubes
-
Lemon slice and mint sprig for garnish
Instructions:
-
Blend the base:
In a blender, combine watermelon, lemon juice, honey, and mint. Blend until smooth. -
Strain (optional):
Strain through a fine mesh sieve if you want a smoother texture. -
Add water & ice:
Pour into two glasses over ice and top with cold water or sparkling water. -
Garnish & enjoy:
Add a lemon slice and mint sprig on top. Serve immediately.
Sarah’s Tips:
-
Freeze watermelon cubes ahead of time to make it extra slushy.
-
This works great as a mocktail base — just add a splash of kombucha or herbal tea!
-
Perfect for post-workout hydration, poolside sipping, or patio brunches.
