Easy Summer Grilled Melon with Lime Recipe

🍽 Sarah’s Story:
I used to think grilling was just for meats and veggies — until one afternoon, my husband tossed cantaloupe slices on the grill “just to try it.” One bite later, I was hooked. The heat brings out this deep sweetness in the melon, and when you hit it with a squeeze of lime… magic. Now it’s my favorite summer side or light dessert when guests come over.
🍈 Grilled Melon with Lime
Ingredients:
-
1 small cantaloupe or honeydew, peeled, deseeded, and cut into thick wedges
-
1 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
-
1 lime, cut into wedges
-
Pinch of sea salt
-
Optional: fresh mint, chili flakes, or a drizzle of honey
👩🍳 Instructions:
-
Preheat grill: Medium-high heat works best. Oil the grates lightly to prevent sticking.
-
Prep the melon: Brush melon wedges with a bit of oil and sprinkle lightly with salt.
-
Grill: Place melon directly on the grill grates and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, or until grill marks appear and the melon slightly softens.
-
Serve: Transfer to a plate and squeeze fresh lime juice over the top. Add mint, chili flakes, or a drizzle of honey if you like.
💡 Tips:
-
Try this with watermelon or pineapple too for a tropical twist.
-
Serve it chilled after grilling for a unique hot–cold contrast.
-
Make it a fancy appetizer with a sprinkle of crumbled feta on top!
