Creamy Easy Banana Milkshake Recipe

This is one of those sweet little recipes I started making “just to use up ripe bananas” — and now it’s a weekly thing.
All you need is a ripe banana, milk, vanilla, and a scoop of something creamy. Blend it up and you’ve got the easiest, dreamiest milkshake ever. It’s cold, cozy, and naturally sweet — no added sugar unless you want it.
The kids love it with a little cinnamon or peanut butter, and I love it as a quick mid-day treat that actually feels good to drink. No mess, no fuss, just delicious.
Ingredients
-
1 large ripe banana (frozen or fresh)
-
1 cup milk of choice (dairy or non-dairy)
-
1 scoop vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt
-
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
-
Optional: pinch of cinnamon, 1 tbsp peanut butter, or maple syrup for extra sweetness
-
Optional toppings: whipped cream, banana slices, cinnamon dusting
Instructions
-
Blend:
Add banana, milk, ice cream, and vanilla to a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy. -
Serve:
Pour into chilled glasses and add toppings if you like. Enjoy immediately!
Sarah’s Tips
-
Use a frozen banana for a thicker, frostier texture.
-
Lighter version? Use Greek yogurt instead of ice cream.
-
Add a spoonful of nut butter or flaxseed for a boost of flavor and nutrition.
