Classic Chocolate Milkshake Recipe

When I was growing up, Friday nights meant movies, popcorn... and chocolate milkshakes. So when my kids asked for one the other night, I had to recreate that same rich, velvety goodness — but a little more wholesome. This version is super simple, uses real ingredients, and honestly tastes better than I remember. A true chocolate fix without the drive-thru.
Ingredients:
-
2 scoops vanilla or chocolate ice cream
-
¾ cup milk of choice
-
3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
-
1–2 tbsp maple syrup or honey (to taste)
-
½ tsp vanilla extract
-
Whipped cream and shaved chocolate for topping (optional)
Instructions:
-
Add ice cream, milk, cocoa powder, sweetener, and vanilla to a blender.
-
Blend until thick and smooth.
-
Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
-
Pour into a chilled glass and top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
