Classic Chocolate Milkshake Recipe

10 minutes 2 servings chocolate recipes classic treats comfort food easy drinks kid-friendly milkshake recipe easy no bake dessert

When I was growing up, Friday nights meant movies, popcorn... and chocolate milkshakes. So when my kids asked for one the other night, I had to recreate that same rich, velvety goodness — but a little more wholesome. This version is super simple, uses real ingredients, and honestly tastes better than I remember. A true chocolate fix without the drive-thru.

Ingredients:

  • 2 scoops vanilla or chocolate ice cream

  • ¾ cup milk of choice

  • 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1–2 tbsp maple syrup or honey (to taste)

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

  • Whipped cream and shaved chocolate for topping (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Add ice cream, milk, cocoa powder, sweetener, and vanilla to a blender.

  2. Blend until thick and smooth.

  3. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.

  4. Pour into a chilled glass and top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
