Chicken Lettuce Wraps Recipe

I love meals that feel light but still super satisfying — and these lettuce wraps hit that sweet spot.
I first made them on a hot summer night when no one wanted anything heavy (and I really didn’t want to turn on the oven). I had some ground chicken and lettuce in the fridge, so I quickly sautéed the meat with garlic, ginger, and tamari — and they turned out so good, the whole family devoured them.
Now, they’re a weekly favorite. They’re quick, full of flavor, and perfect for those nights you want something fresh and fun to eat with your hands.
Ingredients
-
1 lb ground chicken
-
1 tbsp olive oil or sesame oil
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
-
1/4 cup tamari or low-sodium soy sauce
-
1 tbsp rice vinegar
-
1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
-
1/2 tsp chili flakes or sriracha (optional for heat)
-
1/4 cup chopped green onions
-
1 head butter or romaine lettuce (for wraps)
-
Optional toppings: shredded carrots, chopped peanuts, cilantro, extra lime
Instructions
-
Cook the chicken:
In a skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add garlic and ginger, then stir in ground chicken. Cook until browned, about 6–8 minutes. -
Make it saucy:
Stir in tamari, vinegar, honey, and chili flakes (if using). Simmer for 2–3 minutes until sauce slightly thickens. -
Assemble the wraps:
Spoon chicken into lettuce leaves. Top with green onions and any extras you love. Serve immediately.
