Hard-Boiled Eggs with a Sprinkle of Paprika Recipe

Sometimes the simplest foods are the most satisfying.
Hard-boiled eggs were one of the first things I leaned on when I started trying to eat cleaner. They’re protein-packed, easy to prep ahead, and keep me full between meals. But somewhere along the way, I discovered that a little sprinkle of paprika takes them from plain to kind of amazing.
This is one of my favorite quick snacks or light breakfasts—especially when I want something that feels nourishing and comforting, without having to think too hard.
Ingredients
-
4 large eggs
-
Cold water (for boiling)
-
Sea salt, to taste
-
Paprika, for sprinkling (smoked or sweet – both are delicious)
-
Optional: a tiny drizzle of olive oil or hot sauce for extra flavor
Instructions
-
Place eggs in a saucepan and cover with cold water, about an inch above the eggs.
-
Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat. Once boiling, cover with a lid, remove from heat, and let sit for 10–12 minutes.
-
Drain and cool the eggs under cold running water or in an ice bath for 5 minutes.
-
Peel and slice the eggs in half. Sprinkle with sea salt and a dash of paprika.
-
Serve immediately or store in the fridge for up to 5 days for a quick grab-and-go snack.
Why I Love This Snack
This is my go-to when I need something clean and filling, especially in that afternoon slump when I used to reach for a granola bar or crackers. It’s real food, it’s satisfying, and that little bit of paprika gives it a smoky, savory kick that makes it feel just a little special.
When I’m eating this way, I feel grounded and in control—like I’m giving my body what it actually needs, not just what’s convenient.
