Banana Split Milkshake Recipe

Banana splits used to be my favorite childhood dessert—piled high with ice cream, chocolate sauce, and way too much whipped cream. But now that I focus on simple, feel-good ingredients, I created this milkshake version that brings back all those fun flavors… without the sugar rush or guilt. It’s creamy, nostalgic, and hits every sweet craving in just one glass.

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 frozen banana

  • 1/2 cup frozen strawberries

  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)

  • 1 tablespoon almond butter (adds creaminess and richness)

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1–2 teaspoons maple syrup or 1 soft Medjool date (optional)

  • Optional: 1 scoop vanilla or chocolate protein powder

  • Optional toppings: coconut whipped cream, cacao nibs, fresh strawberry slice, or a cherry

 

Instructions:

  1. Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender.

  2. Blend until thick and smooth.

  3. Taste and adjust sweetness as needed.

  4. Pour into a tall glass and top with your favorite Banana Split-style toppings.

  5. Enjoy a milkshake that tastes like dessert—but feels like fuel.

 

Tips & Substitutions:

  • Use peanut butter instead of almond butter for a more nostalgic flavor.

  • Add ice or reduce milk for a thicker shake.

  • Swap strawberries for cherries or raspberries for a twist.
