Mixed Berry Crumble with Almonds Recipe (Warm, Easy & Sweet!)

There’s something so comforting about a warm berry crumble fresh out of the oven… especially when it’s topped with a scoop of cold vanilla yogurt or dairy-free ice cream. Heaven.

I started making this Mixed Berry Crumble with Almonds when I had a fridge full of “almost too ripe” berries and needed a fast, feel-good dessert that didn’t derail my healthy habits. 💙

The result? A juicy, bubbly fruit filling with a golden almond-oat topping that’s crispy, lightly sweet, and full of that buttery crumble texture — without the butter or refined sugar.

It’s perfect for weeknight dessert, slow weekend mornings, or even brunch with friends. And yes… I’ve absolutely eaten it for breakfast. 😉

🍓 Ingredients:

For the berry filling:

  • 4 cups mixed berries (fresh or frozen — blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries)

  • 1–2 tbsp maple syrup or honey (adjust based on berry sweetness)

  • 1 tbsp arrowroot starch or cornstarch

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • Zest of 1 lemon

  • Pinch of sea salt

For the almond crumble topping:

  • ¾ cup rolled oats

  • ½ cup almond flour

  • ¼ cup sliced almonds

  • 2 tbsp coconut oil or butter, melted

  • 2 tbsp maple syrup or honey

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • Pinch of salt

🥣 Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a small baking dish (8x8 or similar).

  2. Make the filling: In a bowl, mix berries with maple syrup, arrowroot starch, vanilla, lemon zest, and salt. Pour into prepared baking dish.

  3. Make the crumble: In another bowl, stir together oats, almond flour, almonds, cinnamon, salt, melted coconut oil, and sweetener until crumbly.

  4. Assemble: Sprinkle crumble topping evenly over the berry mixture.

  5. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the top is golden and the berries are bubbly.

  6. Cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with a scoop of vanilla yogurt, whipped coconut cream, or your favorite non-dairy ice cream.

🍴 Sarah’s Notes & Tips:

  • Make it nut-free: Swap almond flour for oat flour and skip the sliced almonds.

  • Use frozen berries: No need to thaw — just add 1 extra tsp of arrowroot to thicken.

  • Dairy-free serving ideas: Coconut yogurt or a dollop of cashew cream are delish!

  • Make ahead tip: Assemble ahead and refrigerate until ready to bake.

Flavorful Conclusion:

This Mixed Berry Crumble with Almonds is one of those recipes that makes you feel good inside and out. It’s cozy, clean, and just the right mix of sweet, juicy, and crunchy.

Whether you serve it at your next brunch or sneak a spoonful straight from the dish at 10pm (been there), this one’s a keeper. 💕
